NEW AIRPORT PACKAGES FOR TRAVEL AGENCIES AND THEIR CUSTOMERS
Prague Airport, in cooperation with its partners, has prepared new special holiday packages that will significantly reduce travel costs of passengers from all regions of the Czech Republic. From the end of October, Prague Airport will start to offer to travel agencies new packages which will enable their customers to purchase various services connected with the travel to the airport at discounted prices. Within the “Park & Fly” package, customers of the travel agencies will enjoy the advantage of cheaper parking directly at the airport. In a similar way, they will also be able to purchase accommodation in one of the airport hotels or a bargain train ticket of Czech Railways for their journey to the airport. Individual parts of the packages can be combined at random or grouped together with a VIP check-in via two airport lounges.
These new special packages follow up the successful project “Train + Airport” of Prague Airport and Czech Railways offering special return fares on train tickets to Prague Airport. More than 8,500 passengers, mainly from Moravian regions, already used this offer in the period from June till mid August. Due to the growing demand, this project will be prolonged until the end of this year.

July 2010 saw a slight year-on-year decrease by 1.8% in numbers of passengers handled at Prague Airport. A total of 1,289,152 passengers passed through the airport in the reported month. The number of aircraft movements declined by 6.4% to the total of 14,998. The cargo traffic at Prague Airport followed its immense growth and rose, in July, by 48.8%.
While passenger volumes in the scheduled air traffic remained at the same level when compared with July 2009, the number of passengers in the charter segment fell by 9.2%, thus confirming the fact that the local leisure market still suffers by the lack of consumer confidence.

Greece was the country where the biggest number of passengers headed to and from in July 2010. It was followed by the United Kingdom and Germany on second and third ranks. The most significant improvement in passenger numbers was experienced on flights to Russia (+29.1%). With respect to destination ranking, the most popular destinations were again Paris/Charles de Gaulle with a robust increase by 50.8%, Moscow/Sheremetyevo with the second most impressive improvement by 16.6% and London/Heathrow.
