“LA NOTTE ITALIANA“
On 20th October 2010, Lufthansa Italia supported by Prague Airport organised an event for travel agents and tour operators named “La Notte Italiana”. The party in Italian style celebrated the launch of the new Lufthansa Italia route between Prague and Milan/Malpensa. The new service was ceremonially christened by representatives of both companies. In the course of the evening taking place in the Commo restaurant in Prague’s city centre, business partners were able to learn more about the new route, airline’s products as well as enjoy an amusing programme full of music and dance, delicious Italian food, selection of Italian wines and cocktails. The luckiest guests also had an opportunity to win free tickets to Milan.

OPENING OF NEW RESTAURANT-PIZZERIA
BRICCOEXPRESS
A new Italian restaurant-pizzeria “Briccoexpress” was opened at Prague Airport on 13th October 2010. The offer of Briccoexpress restaurant represents an Italian gastronomic tradition. Now, not only lovers of typical Italian food can enjoy pizzas freshly made before their eyes, pasta, salads or sandwiches. The new restaurant is located in the public area of the departure hall in Prague Airport’s Terminal 2.

NEW WEB PRESENTATION OF PRAGUE AIRPORT
As from 4th November 2010, Prague Airport will launch its redesigned website www.prg.aero. The new look of Prague Airport’s web presentation is connected with the change of the Content Management System which will be newly provided by the winner of a public tender – the Lundegaard company. The new website brings a stylish, usable design and presents well-arranged information helping to simplify the navigation throughout the web content. It also features new tools making the web presentation more attractive and enhancing the online image of Prague Airport.
PRAGUE AIRPORT AT ACF 2010 AND 127TH IATA SCHEDULES CONFERENCE
Prague Airport will be represented at the Air Cargo Forum and Exposition 2010, the world’s biggest air cargo industry event, held in Amsterdam from 2nd to 4th November. The airport presentation at this event will offer an opportunity to meet representatives of cargo airlines and discuss possibilities of further development of the growing cargo business in Prague.
From 11th to 14th November, Prague Airport will also exhibit at the 127th IATA Schedules Conference in Melbourne, Australia where scheduling experts from airlines will finalise and confirm their plans for the Summer 2011 season. Attendance at this event will provide a platform to identify new opportunities for network expansion and air traffic increase.

CENTRAL CONNECT AIRLINES TO LAUNCH FOUR ROUTES FROM PRAGUE
Central Connect Airline, the Czech regional airline based in Ostrava, announced the launch of four routes from Prague to Brno, Ostrava, Leipzig and Poznan. CCA entered into a code-share agreement with Czech Airlines on these routes. The agreement helped to retain the air connection between Prague and Brno. It will also offer passengers of both airlines additional flights on the Prague-Ostrava route as well as new air services from Prague to Leipzig and Poznan. Brno and Ostrava routes will be operated five times a week on weekdays starting from 1st November 2010. The new service between Prague and Leipzig starts from 14th November and the Prague-Poznan route will be launched on 17th January 2011, both with one daily flight from Monday to Friday. WINTER TIMETABLE 2010/2011
In the course of effect of the Winter timetable 2010/2011, valid from 31st October 2010 till 25th March 2011, Prague Airport will be connected by regular flights with 105 destinations in 50 countries. The total planned seat capacity of near to six million seats is 3% higher when compared with the same period a year ago. The most frequented routes will be Paris (67 departures per week), Amsterdam (56 weekly frequencies), Frankfurt (52), Moscow (43) and Brussels (40). The Winter timetable 2010/2011 will also offer a selection of newly launched routes. Central Connect Airlines will start its operations at Prague Airport with air services to Brno, Ostrava, Leipzig and Poznan. Two weekly flights from Prague to Voronezh in Russia will be operated by Air Company POLET. The Prague-based low cost carrier SmartWings will start flying to Amsterdam from 31st October. Effective from 5th November, Jet2.com will add a new service to Newcastle with two to three weekly flights. Starting from 9th December, easyJet will launch its new Prague-Lyon route, operated three times a week.

In September 2010, Prague Airport welcomed 1,219,848 passengers, 3% above the corresponding levels of 2009. The number of aircraft movements amounted to 14,678, representing a decrease by 1.3%. Air cargo volumes with a significant growth by 34.1% continued its positive development.
The month of September was characterized by a successful development of low cost carriers traffic which increased by 5.6% compared to the corresponding period of 2009. Passenger volumes also increased by 3.2% in the full service carriers segment, while charter flights were down by 1.6% year-on-year.




The most popular country in September was the UK, followed by Germany and Greece. An impressive growth by 47.2% was achieved in traffic to Denmark. Other countries with an immense increase in passenger numbers were Russia (+30.3%), the Netherlands (+24.1%) and France (+19.3%). TOP 3 destinations in terms of passenger traffic were Paris/Charles de Gaulle, Moscow/Sheremetyevo and Frankfurt.
