Prague Airport, as the operator of an international airport, handles hazardous substances (e.g., aviation fuel) in large quantities to facilitate airport operations.

Under the Serious Accident Prevention Act, Prague Airport is obliged to draft a Safety Programme.

The Safety Programme has been drafted in a way to fulfil two objectives. Alongside its main objective, which is to describe, provide instructions and outline procedures for the implementation and management of a serious accident prevention system, it serves as a document presented by company management to administrative bodies, surrounding entities and the general public on the extent of risk deriding from airport operations.

The Safety Programme also includes the acceptance of the company obligations to prevent serious accidents – the Serious Accident Prevention Policy (CZ).
