Air France, the French national carrier, has announced it will open a new base of operations in the French city of Marseille, from which it will begin offering 13 new direct connections starting October 2, 2011. One of those new direct flights from Marseille will be to Prague.

Marseille thus becomes the third destination, after Paris and Lyon, from which Air France will operate direct connections to Prague. The new link will be in service starting October 5, 2011 and will fly twice per week, on Wednesday and Saturday, using an Airbus A319/A320. One-way tickets start at 50 EUR  including taxes and fees.
