Charity Travel Photo Exhibition Featuring Shots by Public Figures
A number of well-known figures in Czech culture have gotten involved in a virtual photo exhibition on the www.letejtezprahy.cz website. The autographed photos, taken by Czech celebrities on their trips around the world, are available for purchase. All proceeds will go to the People in Need Foundation.
"The photos in this exhibition come from all over the world. Money from their sale will go to the account of People in Need and be used by us to support our priority projects in Africa and Asia. We are delighted that Prague Airport has become our long-term partner. Thanks to all who donated their photos to the charity sale. These moments from their travels will now take on additional meaning. They'll be helping people who really need it,“ said Simon Panek, Director of People in Need.
The photographs include shots by Tomas Hanak (his photos from the Netherlands are on the level of images by renowned photographers), Roman Vojtek (photographic reportage of Bolivia and New York), director Alice Nellis (Patagonia), singer Iva Frühlingová (the Spanish coast), presenter Vojtech Bernatský (Thailand), musician David Kraus (Greece) and writer Michael Viewegh (Mauritius).
"I'm happy to have been able to get involved in this worthy event," says singer Leona Machálková, who contributed photographs of Shanghai to the exhibition. "We live in a world which is unfortunately divided, and we who have an abundance of things should remember those who are not so lucky."
The www.letejtezprahy.cz website offers the most comprehensive information available concerning cities with direct connections from Prague Airport. The site offers basic information and history, as well as essential practical information concerning vaccinations, types of transport, local customs, etc., for every destination. Information concerning emergency numbers and numbers for embassies is also given.
The exhibition will run until December 31, 2010.
