After a winter hiatus, Delta Air Lines is once again beginning regular flights to Atlanta. The seasonal link will connect Prague and Delta's home airport four times per week until August 30, 2010, flying on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The regular arrival time from Atlanta is set for 9:20 AM, with departures at 11:05 AM. More here...

easyJet, one of the leading European low cost airlines has strengthened its position on the Czech market by launching a new direct service from Prague to Paris on Sunday, March 28th, 2010. This route is one of the three new routes easyJet is to start servicing this spring. In April a service to Doncaster in England will be launched, followed by Amsterdam in May.

On Sunday 3/28/2010, Prague Airport will begin operating under its summer flight schedule. 50 air carriers are planning regular direct flights to 131 destinations in 51 countries from the end of March until 10/30/2010. That represents a 3.4% increase in overall seating capacity compared to the 2009 summer season, an increase of 9,824,566 seats. Prague Airport offers to the travelling public a new service. Information about weather conditions at the passenger fianl destination are now provided on displays located around the terminals. Prague Airport has thus become one of the top international airports able to display such information together with the respective flight details. Passengers will be informed about the weather conditions in their final destinations forecasted for the time of their arrival from displays located above the check-in desks and in gates. The source of information about the weather conditions is data from hydrometeorological institutes around the world collected and updated every five minutes by the service provider. This is another step towards enhancement of the Prague Airport’s information system that already ranks among the best ones at all European airports.

4.03.10 18:15 | Turkish Airlines launching two daily flights from Prague to Istanbul

Turkish Airlines, in line with its expansion plan, has announced an increase in the number of its daily flights between Prague and Istanbul. As of March 4th, the number of scheduled flights between the two cities will increase to nine weekly flights and as of May 1st, 2010, there will be two direct flights to Istanbul a day.

26.01.10 17:25 | Doors of the ‘Museum of Consumer Electronics’ opened at Prague Airport

On Tuesday, January 26th, 2010, a historical exhibition of electric appliances was launched in Prague Airport’s Terminal 2 Departure Hall. The exposition called the “Museum of Consumer Electronics” has resulted from cooperation of Prague Airport with a non-profit organisation ASEKOL, an electro-waste collection and recycling specialist. The exhibition will present to the airport visitors a frenetic development of consumer electronics aiming to educate the younger ones, evoke the feelings of pleasant nostalgia and last, but not least, promote recycling of time-expired electric appliances in an entertaining way. No fee is charged upon entry of the Museum (located in the Terminal 2 Departure Hall) and the exposition will be on display at Prague Airport till 5th April 2010.

As of 1st February 2010, a new aircraft painted in Prague Airport’s colours accompanied by a remarkable stamp bearing the motto: “Prague Loves You” will frequent Prague-Ruzyne airport. The Boeing 737-800 aircraft with a new design is owned by Travel Service airline.

From 26/11/2009, 25 new kiosks (self check-in) were installed in the departure halls. Passengers who prefer this form of checking-in will be able to use sixteen kiosks in Terminal 2 and nine kiosks in Terminal 1. 29.11.09 01:00 | A special delegation of heavenly and infernal creatures is arriving at Prague Airport

You will be able to meet them during St. Nicholas Excursions in the airport’s restricted areas taking place from 4:30 to 8:20 pm, with 20-minute intervals between them. Wheel-chair accessible busses will be available on excursions starting at 5, 6:30 and 8 pm. Tours of the airport infrastructure take about an hour and are mainly designed for children who attend free of charge, while accompanying adults pay 50 CZK per tour. Those interested, please apply for a tour using this booking form by November 27th at the latest.
