The 2010 flight schedule will be enhanced by the addition of a regular Prague-Dubai link flown by Emirates

Prague 23/12/2009

Emirates Airlines says it will introduce a new daily Prague-Dubai connection starting July 1, 2010. It's the first time ever the airline has had a Prague departure.

An Airbus 330-200 with a 278-passenger capacity will fly the route. That means the approximately 30,000 passengers who make the Prague-Dubai trip every year will now be able to fly to the Emirates nonstop. "Passengers will also be able to make faster, easier connections on flights to Asia and Australia. We estimate almost 100,000 passengers will fly the route every year," Prague Airport General Manager Miroslav Dvořák said about the entry of Emirates into the Czech marketplace. He added: "We're happy that our two-and-a-half years of negotiations with Emirates have ended in our successfully getting a new connection. This will strengthen our position as the entry portal to Central and Eastern Europe."

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline & Group, said: "This is another new and exciting development for Emirates, embracing a popular European tourist destination. We have been keen to add Prague to our network and start up our 24th European destination."

The Prague-Dubai link is Prague Airport's eighth long-distance direct flight connection. Previously, it's been possible to fly direct from Prague to Atlanta, New York, Astana, Novosibirsk, Tashkent, Almaty and Seoul.
