Prague Airport will only use eggs from hens not kept in cages to prepare meals in restaurants and catering facilities owned by the airport, such as Restaurant Praha, restaurant at Terminal 3 and other cafeterias for employees. The company has joined several retail chains following the same practice and effective this week, will only purchase eggs from suppliers who do not pursue this way of eggs production.

We believe that it is the customers’ primary requirements that have the potential to enforce ethical ways of making food and to set food quality benchmarks. We are glad that we have set out in this direction and have been able to implement a particular policy within a very short timeframe. At the same time, we hope to see an example for other companies purchasing eggs for catering,"  stated Hana van der Hoeven, Corporate Social Responsibility Specialist at Prague Airport.

The decision is in line with the airport's quest to improve the quality of food served to passengers and employees, and at the same time confirms that the airport is actively involved in diverse areas within the sustainable business approach framework.
