Handicapped passengers waiting for their departure from the Václav Havel Airport Prague will now be able to use a new waiting room specially adapted to their needs. The waiting room is situated in the departure hall of Terminal 2 in the area of the former security check and will increase comfort of passengers with physical handicaps and persons with limited mobility or orientation.

The waiting room will first be available in a provisional day mode with opening hours from 8 am to 4 pm and will offer seats, a soda bar and standard assistance providing accompaniment, help with check-in, security check or boarding the plane.

“Our aim was to build a comfortable space where the passengers with special needs will arrive either alone or with their accompaniment. They will subsequently receive care of a professionally trained airport staff member providing complete assistance to them in connection with all movements around the airport. This assistance has already been provided as a standard at our airport to persons with physical handicaps or limited mobility or orientation before,” says Tomáš Vláčil, Director of Terminal Operation at Prague Airport.

Already today passengers may order free assistance service on departure or arrival. The service is made available on the basis of prior order in the context of air ticket booking with an airline company or on arrival at the airport at the check-in desk, information desk or at identified points, including the new waiting room at Terminal 2. The passengers should always exactly specify their needs. The assistance is then automatically provided during the journey including potential transit airport(s).

Handicapped passengers who are holders of the ZTP/P certificate may in addition park their cars free of charge in any airport parking lots and park houses. They just need to present their parking slip and ZTP/P certificate at the parking dispatching office on the ground floor of the Parking C park house where they will receive a free exit ticket.
