Closure of main runway at Václav Havel Airport Prague

Due to regular maintenance and other necessary work, the main runway 06/24 will be closed in May. The maintenance process is divided into two phases and will take place only in the day time from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. During the first phase, which will last from 10 May to 15 May 2019, air traffic will be diverted to the shorter subsidiary runway only in the direction to Kladno because of the grinding of the runways intersection surface. During the second phase, which will last from 18 May to 23 May 2019, the rest of the main runway surface will be grinded and repaired and air traffic will be diverted to the backup runway 12/30 in both directions. In the night time, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 AM, air traffic will be shifted back to the main runway. To make effective use of the main runway closure period, which has a negative impact on the densely populated areas of Prague and the Kladno region, other necessary work will be also carried out on the runway and in its surroundings. In case of bad weather, the repair may be suspended and the deadline postponed.
