  • Václav Havel Airport Prague Exceeds 12 Million Passengers Handled a Year


    In 2015, Václav Havel Airport Prague handled 12,030,928 passengers. Our largest airport has thus recorded a 7.9% year-on-year growth. The biggest interest in air travels among passengers was experienced in August, when the air hub serviced almost 1.4 million travellers. 16 August 2015 was the busiest day with almost 50 thousand passengers handled. On average, 33 thousand passengers were handled a day. The recent trend of growing numbers among local travellers using Prague as their starting or final destination has also continued. Compared with the previous year, their number has risen by 7.1%, exceeding the historical maximum of 2014.

  • Prague Airport continues to lower prices and expand services with breakfast buffet offer for 150 CZK and 3-course meals for 125 CZK


    Prague Airport introduces additional updates of its passenger services. Effective January 2016, the airport operator now offers a breakfast buffet for CZK 150 or three-course menus at an unmatched price of CZK 125 at its restaurants. The company thus continues fulfilling its goal of improving the quality and lowering prices, which it has focused on as a part of its “Enhancing Your Airport Experience” campaign since June 2015. Prague Airport’s mobile application has also been updated and now provides passengers with an easy way to provide the airport with feedback. These positive changes have resulted from the long-term goal of enhancing the airport environment and passenger services.

    Emirates today announced that it will start flying its iconic A380 to Prague as of 1 May 2016, becoming the first and only operator of the world’s largest passenger aircraft in Czech Republic.

  • KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Voted the 2015 Quietest Airline at Václav Havel Airport Prague


    KLM Royal Dutch Airlines successfully defended its 2014 title of the QUIETEST AIRLINE. The award was presented to the winner by representatives of both contest organisers – Jiří Kraus, Prague Airport Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Ondřej Kolář, Mayor of Prague 6 Municipality. Alongside noise level and flight track adherence monitoring, the annual contest also focuses on aircraft seat capacity use, i.e. the load factor. The contest was designed with the goal of motivating air carriers to pursue a considerate approach to residents of the airport’s surrounding areas.

    Prague Airport, the operator of Václav Havel Airport Prague, has won a prestigious award for the Czech Republic. The company was named as a National Champion of the Czech Republic in The European Business Awards, a prestigious competition sponsored by the RSM network and supported by business leaders, academics, media and political representatives from across Europe.

  • Prague Airport Continues to Lower Prices and Expand Services with Winter Parking Offer and Guaranteed Bottled Water for Under 1 EUR


    Prague Airport has launched new innovations for passenger. It now guarantees all passengers the option of purchasing bottled water for less than EUR 1 (CZK 27) after passing through passport control and security screening. In the winter season, the company will also offer 8-day parking directly at the airport from CZK 590, thus fulfilling its commitment given to the general public in September 2015. These positive changes have resulted from the long-term goal of improving the airport environment and services, as communicated in the “Enhancing Your Airport Experience” campaign.

  • Operation and Security Exercise underway today at Václav Havel Airport Prague


    An operation and security exercise is taking place on 21 October 2015 from 01:30 to 04:30 p.m. at Václav Havel Airport Prague. All interventions will be limited to the public and non-public area of the connection building between Terminals 1 and 2. The exercise will not restrict the operation of the airport in any way.

  • Prague Airport wins the prestigious World Routes Marketing Award 2015


    Prague Airport won first place in the category of airports checking in 4 to 20 million passengers a year at the World Routes international conference which was held from 19 to 22 September in Durban, South Africa. It won for the first time in its history in global competition with other airports. At this biggest world venue of air carriers and airports, airline representatives appreciated the quality of mutual cooperation in the development of air connections and in marketing support.

  • Prague Airport installs explosives detectors at both terminals


    The operator of Václav Havel Airport Prague is investing about 30 million crowns in a new explosives detector system. This is required by updated European security rules which came into force on 1 September 2015. The new detection devices can, to a considerable extent, replace the existing form of full-body search of passengers by touch and thereby significantly speed up the whole security check process of some people.

  • New, Better Arranged Arrival to Václav Havel Airport Prague to Be Launched


    Effective 1st September 2015, a new exit from the R7 motorway to Václav Havel Airport Prague will be opened in the direction from Prague to Slaný. Cars headed to the airport will leave the motorway after passing under a bridge over the R7 motorway connecting the Tuchoměřice and Ruzyně areas. The reason for the new motorway construction is to make the airport arrival more straightforward and to provide sufficient capacity for future increases in passenger volumes. The change will be clearly communicated by new traffic signs.
