It will soon be possible to fly directly from Václav Havel Airport Prague to the second largest city in Ireland. As of 23 October 2025, Aer Lingus is launching a new route between Prague and Cork.
"The last direct flight connection with Cork was in operation at our airport in 2008. We are therefore pleased that, after seventeen years, Cork will return to our offer of destinations as part of the winter flight schedule. We are also pleased to deepen our cooperation with Aer Lingus, which has been flying regularly between Prague and Dublin for 23 years. The new route opens up another opportunity for Czech passengers to discover Ireland and increases the potential of tourism between Ireland and the Czech Republic," Jiří Vyskoč, Prague Airport Aviation Business Development Executive Director, said.
The new Prague – Cork route will operate twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays, from 23 October and Aer Lingus will deploy an Airbus A320 aircraft with a capacity of 174 seats on the route. This is the carrier's second regular route at Prague Airport. Under the current summer flight schedule, Aer Lingus connects Prague with the Irish capital of Dublin on a daily basis. Under the winter flight schedule, the Prague – Dublin route will be available to passengers six times a week.
“As Ireland’s national carrier, we are delighted to be able to re-connect Cork with Prague for the winter season. This route represents a great opportunity for Cork passengers to experience the timeless beauty of Prague. It also offers Czech passengers a convenient connection to Cork and the opportunity to experience all that Ireland has to offer in winter,” Susanne Carberry, Aer Lingus Customer Service Director, added.
Cork is the second largest city in Ireland, located between two channels of the River Lee. It is characterised by a rich history and a unique atmosphere shaped by the local Georgian architecture. The former prison of Cork City Gaol, which is now a museum showing the conditions of prisoners in the 19th century, is worth a visit. Cork was once the centre of the world butter trade, and the boom of this industry is illustrated by the local Butter Museum. The Crawford Art Gallery is also worth a visit, with an extensive collection of European fine art from the 18th century to the present day. Tourists should not miss the two local cathedrals, namely the Catholic St. Mary’s Cathedral and the Anglican Saint Fin Barre’s Cathedral. For shopping and good food, it is recommended to visit the English Market.
Tickets are already available for purchase on the Aer Lingus website.
