Prague Airport Encourages Passengers to Explore Interesting European Destinations

Press Release
Return to list

A new marketing campaign launched by Prague Airport will support outgoing tourism and a number of interesting destinations across Europe. The list includes places in Croatia, Italy, France and Spain, easily reached from Václav Havel Airport Prague by direct scheduled flights. The campaign will use various media channels and run throughout the year, but primarily during the summer season. The first campaign billboards have been promoting selected cities across Terminal 2 since the beginning of January 2019. Effective February 2019, the campaign will also include online and outdoor ads at selected locations across the Czech Republic. It is the airport’s goal to increase the interest in air travel among residents of the airport catchment area and to offer an alternative to travelling by car. Prague Airport would also like to increase the knowledge of the destinations involved and the number of connections offered as well as provide our support to air carriers.

“We would like to inspire Czechs to fly more frequently and regularly, either on holiday or to enjoy still more popular European city breaks. We want to convince them that travelling by air is faster, more convenient and even cheaper to a number of destinations. The particular countries and destinations included in the new 2019 marketing campaign were selected based on Prague Airport’s long-term aviation business strategy, of which the campaign is an integral part,” Jiri Vyskoc, Prague Airport Aviation Business Executive Director, said. “We can see great potential, for example, in routes to popular Croatia. The majority of travellers still prefer cars for their journeys there, but we would like to change that,” added Jiri Vyskoc.

This year, 15 destinations in four countries, namely in Croatia, France, Italy and Spain, will be included in the campaign. The visual images used will motivate passengers to purchase flights to, for example, Split, Zadar, Bari, Pisa, Marseille and Malaga. A similar campaign should be repeated every year with destinations regularly rotated and selected based on Prague Airport’s long-term strategy.

Prague Airport supports both incoming and outgoing tourism, as it plays an important role in the development of new routes. Last year, the TouchPoint platform was created to support incoming tourism. The initiative focuses on promoting joint business and marketing activities of Prague Airport, CzechTourism, Prague City Tourism and the Central Bohemian Tourist Board.
