Starting October 25 of this year, easyJet will operate regular flights between Prague and Marrakesh. The new route will operate twice a week from Prague Airport—on Wednesdays and Sundays.

"Cooperation with easyJet has yielded highly positive results for Prague Airport over the long-term, and we are very absolutely delighted with its continued development. Last year, easyJet became the fastest-growing carrier at our airport and is now expanding its offering to include its first non-European destination from Prague. The new route to Marrakesh represents another important step in expanding our network and will contribute to strengthening outbound tourism to the North African region. We expect the new connection to find a strong response among passengers during its very first year of operation," says Jaroslav Filip, Aviation Business Director at Prague Airport.

The new route will operate twice a week, always on Wednesdays and Sundays, with the first flight scheduled for 25 October this year. "The new connection between Prague and Marrakesh will offer our customers a new destination for shorter city breaks, with the opportunity to experience the local culture or to explore the breathtaking Moroccan landscape outside the city." At the same time, this complements our network of 22 European cities that we fly to from Prague, which offer a combination of city, leisure and beach destinations," explains Thomas Haagensen, Group Markets Director at easyJet.

The heart of Marrakesh, one of the most vibrant cities in Morocco, is its Old Town (Medina), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This historic centre comprises a vast labyrinth of narrow streets, markets and mosques. On its edge lies the Jemaa el-Fnaa square, full of stalls selling traditional delicacies, crafts, and textiles. The bustling atmosphere here is enhanced by local artists, led by pipers whose playing guides the dance of the cobras. A peaceful contrast to the bustling centre is offered by the extensive botanical gardens founded by the French painter Jacques Majorelle – the gardens thus bear his name.  They were later restored by fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent and today rank among the most visited places in the city. Towering above Marrakesh is the High Atlas Mountain range, which is a major draw for fans of mountain hiking.

easyJet is opening ticket sales for flights to Marrakesh on its website.
