Twice a week, on Tuesdays and Sundays, Jazeera Airways' Airbus A320Neo is to transport passengers between Prague and Kuwait. The direct air connection between the two countries will thus make Prague available to a part of the Persian Gulf with considerable inbound tourism potential.

“A direct route to Kuwait will provide Czech tourists with easy access to this interesting country, famous for its cosmopolitan character, or it can serve as a transfer point for flights to more distant destinations, such as India. Alongside Prague, travellers from Kuwait may find the West Bohemian spa triangle attractive, included on the UNESCO World Heritage List last year,” Jiří Pos, Chairman of the Prague Airport Board of Directors, said, adding: “In the pre-pandemic period, 12,000 people travelled between Prague and Kuwait in both directions even without a direct air connection. With direct flights, the number could increase significantly.”

Last May, Jaroslav Siro, Czech Ambassador to Kuwait, said at a meeting with travel agents and other business partners: “This route strengthens relations between the Czech Republic and Kuwait and creates new opportunities for further growth in the segments of tourism, education, healthcare, and trade. There is so much to be discovered in the Czech Republic and this new route will significantly help the process. We look forward to welcoming Jazeera Airways’ customers to our country, and to continue promoting everything the Czech capital and the rest of the country have to offer its visitors.”

Jazeera Airways is Kuwaits leading low-cost airline active in the Middle East, Asia, and Europe, operating commercial and cargo flights from Terminal T5 at Kuwait International Airport. The airline services more than 50 popular destinations in the Middle East, Central and South Asia, Africa, and Europe, which include highly sought-after business, leisure, and weekend destinations.

We are very pleased to launch this new service to Prague and the Czech Republic for the summer season, thus providing our customers with broader options of enjoying a holiday full of activities and cultural experiences with family members or friends. Demand for unique tourist destinations is very high after two years of travel restrictions,” Rohit Ramachandran, Jazeera Airways CEO, said.

“The launch of the air connection from Kuwait is very good news for inbound tourism, which we have been working hard to restore. The Middle East region has strong potential and generates an interesting tourism segment. Therefore, we have decided to actively support the new routes from the Middle East not only with a marketing campaign, but also with a series of FAM trips for representatives of Kuwaiti outgoing travel agencies, and leading influencers. The main objective is to boost interest in the Czech Republic and, as a result, gain new air connections with regular year-round frequencies,” Jan Herget, CzechTourism Agency Managing Director, said, adding: “The flexibility of the visa-granting process is absolutely essential for the success of the Kuwait route.”
