Great Britain has long been among the most popular destinations with passengers departing from Václav Havel Airport Prague. A new route to the East Midlands region will be available to the lovers of the island nation of Great Britain effective November 2023. Prague Airport will offer flights to airports near Nottingham, Derby, and Leicester twice a week, always on Mondays and Fridays. In winter, the British carrier Jet2.com plans to add a series of pre-Christmas flights from Prague to Edinburgh, which will be operated every Thursday and Sunday from 30 November to 17 December 2023.

Jet2.com currently operates five regular routes from Václav Havel Airport Prague, namely to Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, and Newcastle. Flights to East Midlands Airport will be offered from 10 November 2023 until 20 May 2024. “We are pleased that Jet2.com is launching its sixth regular route to Václav Havel Airport Prague. The East Midlands – Prague route was in operation until March 2020 and its resumption is a clear sign of the ever-growing demand from both markets. I believe that the direct connection from East Midlands Airport will be attractive not only for British tourists, but also for Czech passengers heading to Nottingham, Leicester, and Derby,” Jiří Vyskoč, Prague Airport Aviation Business Development Executive Director, said.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, added: “We saw strong demand for city breaks last winter season. As always, we want to give passengers what they want, so we’ve launched new services to Prague from East Midlands Airport throughout the winter season, as well as a mini-series of dedicated Prague Christmas Market trips from Edinburgh Airport. As the UK’s largest operator of European city breaks, we know that these new flights and city breaks to Prague will be extremely popular.”
