Prague Airport confirms its strong financial position and stable growth, as shown by the latest rating of the renowned Moody’s Investors Service rating agency. Thanks to its responsible financial policy and solid results, Prague Airport maintains its rating of Aa3 with a stable outlook. This rating reflects not only the low level of debt and strong operating profit, but also the positive development in the field of tourism and the continued growth in the number of handled passengers.

“I am glad that the company has been able to meet its strategic goals in the long term while maintaining a very strong financial position. The confirmation of the Aa3 rating and the improvement in BCA show that we are on the right track and have the trust of not only our partners, but also renowned international institutions,” Jiří Pos, Chairman of the Prague Airport Board of Directors, said.

“This positive rating confirms our long-term financial stability and responsible approach to company economic activities. We are pleased that Moody’s recognises our ability to effectively implement key investment projects. Despite extensive investments in the coming years, we have a solid base which will allow us to implement these projects without compromising our financial stability,” Marek Mastník, member of the Prague Airport Board of Directors responsible for finance, said.

A great success for Prague Airport is the improvement of the main component of its credit rating, i.e. the BCA (Baseline Credit Assessment), from a1 to aa3. This rating, which is among the best of the rated airports, allows Prague Airport to maintain its high rating even in the event that the rating of the Czech Republic, as the owner of Prague Airport, were to be lowered.

The Aa3 rating positively highlights the position of Prague Airport as the owner of the only airport serving the city of Prague – the main international gateway to the Czech Republic –, its competitive aviation business-related charges within a balanced regulatory arrangement, and, last but not least, its very strong financial profile, which allows it to react flexibly in the implementation of its long-term investment plan.
