Prague Airport, in cooperation with airline flyadeal, is strengthening direct connections with Saudi Arabia. Today, the carrier officially launched flights on the route between Prague and Riyadh and is also opening a new service to Jeddah. Both seasonal routes will operate three times a week. For flyadeal, Prague represents a key destination for its entry into the European market.
“We are pleased to welcome flyadeal as a new airline that will operate fligths to our airport. New route from Jeddah and additional capacity from Riyadh will further strenghten our connectivity to Middle East and also the relationship between the Czech Republic and Saudi Arabia. The number of higher-spending travelers from Saudi Arabia to Prague has been steadily increasing and we expect that a total of 20,000 passengers will use new routes in both directions during during their seasonal operation,” said Jiri Pos, Chairman of the Board of Prague Airport.
Both routes will commence at the beginning of the summer holiday season – Riyadh from 1 July and Jeddah from 2 July – and will operate until the end of September. flyadeal will deploy Airbus A320neo aircraft with a capacity of 186 passengers on these scheduled flights. The Prague–Riyadh service will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, while flights to Jeddah will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Prague is a key destination for flyadeal, serving the Central European region, and is among the first new destinations through which the carrier is entering the European market. In addition to inbound tourism from Saudi Arabia, the new routes also open up travel opportunities for Czech passengers, who are increasingly interested in destinations in the Middle East. Riyadh impresses with the contrast between ancient fortresses and modern skyscrapers and also serves as a gateway to desert adventures. In Jeddah, the historic centre – listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and known for its coral stone houses – is well worth a visit. The city is also home to the King Fahd Fountain, which shoots water to a height of over 300 metres.
