Prague Airport is hosting a new exhibition. It is a collection of paintings by the prominent Czech artist Pasta Oner entitled “Usual Suspect”. The exhibition is open to the general public at Prague Airport until the end of April.

"We are very happy that we were able to establish a collaboration with Pasta Oner and may present his work in our gallery space. Today, the airport is not just a place which helps you move from point A to point B – it is a space where people spend time, wait for their loved ones, and get ready for a trip. We want this time to be pleasant and inspiring, offering them the option to enjoy nice moments before departure or after arrival,” Eva Krejčí, Prague Airport Director of Communications and Marketing, said and added: “Art has the unique ability to make us stop, please us, and raise a smile. We believe that distinctive and visually appealing works can offer passengers and terminal visitors a brief break from the hustle and bustle of travel and enrich their experience at the airport. Our goal is for the airport to become a place where people feel good – not only in terms of its functioning, but also humanly and aesthetically.”

Pasta Oner himself has a personal relationship with Prague Airport. “I am one of the many children of the airport. My mother worked as a flight attendant and my father as a baggage handler. Moreover, my parents met on board the plane. We lived together near the old airport in the quarters of the then Czechoslovak Airlines, and as a child I often waited for one of my parents in the airport terminal. I have fond memories of this period. Anyone who has worked at the airport or regularly visited it knows well how the environment and its atmosphere can get under a person’s skin. That is why I am pleased that after all those years I am present at the airport through my work,” Pasta Oner, said.

The focus of Pasta Oner’s work is acrylic painting and the creation of hanging paintings, and it is these works which the new exhibition at Václav Havel Airport Prague comprises. A total of 22 iconic paintings are exhibited in the Art Zone gallery space on the ground floor of Terminal 2, thus providing an overview of the work of this renowned pop art artist to date. Visitors can also watch footage of Pasta Oner’s previous exhibitions on four television screens, including a look behind the scenes – from installations to gala openings.

The “Usual Suspect” exhibition is open at Václav Havel Airport Prague until the end of April this year. It is located in the public part of the airport and admission is free.
