On Sunday, 27 March, the 2022 summer schedule comes into effect at Václav Havel Airport Prague. Throughout the season, Prague Airport will offer passengers a selection of 147 destinations, including 25 charter flights. A total of 58 air carriers will provide air connections with Prague. New routes, such as New York and Riyadh, will be added, while many other destinations will see increases in the number of frequencies, namely London, Madrid, and Paris. The number of operated destinations and active air carriers will reach ¾ of the record 2019 offer.

“Compared to last summer season, we will offer passengers 19 more destinations, even though all Russian and Ukrainian connections are completely left out at this point. To compare, during the record year of 2019, 190 destinations were serviced from Prague. The 147 destinations, reached in 2022, represent 77% of the pre-crisis year offer. Despite the aviation industry’s uneasy situation, we are still able to continue expanding the network of direct air connections from Prague,” Jiří Pos, Chairman of the Prague Airport Board of Directors, said.

This summer, the new destination list comprises regular flights such as Riyadh, Alicante and Almería in Spain, Faro and Porto in Portugal, the Greek islands of Mykonos and Santorini, and Tivat in Montenegro. Several brand-new carriers will also be introduced, such as Air Montenegro, Norwegian Flyr, Saudi Arabian flynas, Icelandic Play, and Turkish SunExpress. Flight frequencies will be increased to popular destinations such as London, Amsterdam, and Paris. United Airlines plans to launch scheduled flights to/from New York (Newark Airport) on 21 May, while Delta Air Lines is to follow with flights to/from JFK Airport effective 27 May 2022. Both companies plan to operate their flights on a daily basis. During the upcoming summer operating season, airlines of the Smartwings Group (75), Ryanair (29), Eurowings (19), Wizz Air (12), and easyJet (11) will offer flights to the greatest number of destinations.

"After a two-year involuntary pause, airlines will offer additional interesting connections for inbound and outbound tourism during the summer season. This year, again, we want to support selected destinations through our own marketing activities on the Czech market. In the USA, we will continue our marketing campaigns within the Touchpoint project with CzechTourism and Prague City Tourism. In addition, we jointly plan to support inbound tourism from major European markets, such as the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, and, most recently, from Saudi Arabia," Jaroslav Filip, Director of Prague Airport Aviation Business, said.

Passengers can find a detailed overview of available connections, including a list of airlines offering flights to a particular destination, which is updated on a regular basis, on the Prague Airport’s website. Interested parties can use a convenient link from the overview to the airline's website, providing the most up-to-date information about the flight schedule and the option of booking tickets directly on the website. Selected destinations also feature interesting local details for travellers.

Throughout the summer season, it remains recommended to passengers with scheduled flights to always review all currently valid conditions for travel before the trip. This includes both the conditions implemented in their final destination, and the measures governing their return to the Czech Republic, thus avoiding possible complications during check-in and border control. Passengers should also be aware of all applicable measures aboard their airline-operated aircraft.
