Prague Airport continues to support its surroundings. Through the Biodiversity, Ventilation, and Good Neighbour grant programmes, it will distribute tens of millions of crowns this year to support ecological and community projects.

Firstly, Prague Airport announced the fourth round of the Biodiversity grant programme in early January. The application process lasts from 5 January to 31 March 2026. The programme aims to support species diversity, ecological stability, and natural water retention in the urbanised landscape in the vicinity of the airport. The Biodiversity programme is a part of Prague Airport's long-term ESG strategy and since its launch, it has already supported more than forty projects which contribute to landscape restoration, the protection of endangered species, and raising environmental awareness. This year, the airport has allocated three million crowns under this programme.

“Prague Airport plans to continue with its Biodiversity grant programme until at least 2050. It is an integral part of one of the pillars of our ESG strategy and our long-term commitment to sustainability,” said Soňa Hykyšová, Prague Airport Director of Environment, Sustainability, and ESG.

Financial contributions may be received for projects focused on, for example, revitalising the landscape, restoring green areas, supporting natural habitats, and funding environmental education for children and the general public. The programme is designed for a wide range of applicants - from municipalities and city districts to schools and universities, as well as non-profit organisations and research institutions. The amount of the contribution can reach up to 300 thousand crowns per project. Detailed information is available on the Prague Airport website.

The Ventilation grant programme, which is designed to financially support the purchase of ventilation systems for property owners in pre-defined locations, is another grant programme announced. The acceptance of applications under this programme will be stopped after 80 applications are received, which corresponds to the amount of the allocated financial budget. The goal of the programme is to implement additional noise-abatement measures leading to a reduction in noise from aircraft operations in the indoor protected area of buildings. All information is available on the Prague Airport website.

Moreover, this May, Prague Airport will announce another year of the Good Neighbour grant programme, which is focused on supporting community life in the vicinity of the airport.
