A total of 96,481,135 kilograms of air cargo and mail were handled by Prague Airport in 2025, thus surpassing the operational record in the air cargo transport field set in 2017. Compared to 2024, this result represents a year-on-year increase of 48%.

"The record result was contributed to by the launch of regular cargo flights by Central Airlines between Prague and Chengdu, China, and the increased capacities of existing cargo carriers Qatar Airways Cargo, Turkish Cargo, and FedEx. The growth in volume is related to the increased demand in the e-commerce segment and the growth in the number of long-haul passenger routes by new carriers Etihad Airways, Asiana Airlines, and Air Canada,” Jindřich Zeman, Prague Airport Cargo Development Manager, explained the year-on-year development.

Of the total volume of cargo transported last year at Prague Airport, imports amounted to 58,672 tons (61% of the total), representing a year-on-year increase of 83%, while exports reached 37,809 tons (39% of the total) and increased by 14% compared to the previous year.

"Václav Havel Airport Prague is primarily a passenger airport, but cargo represents an additional segment which significantly contributes economically to the development of long-haul passenger routes. At the same time, air freight allows for the efficient transport of goods over long distances without further burdening the motorway infrastructure with lorry traffic,” Jindřich Zeman explained the importance of cargo for Prague Airport.
