1. 12. 2025May your home be filled with the smell of cookies and fresh brew, and may all your wishes come true, those are the lyrics of the carol which Prague Airport has tailor made for this year's Christmas. The new Christmas song, the tones of which blend with the authentic sounds of airport traffic, will be played, among other things, in radio spots. Right at Prague Airport, passengers can already experience the Christmas atmosphere thanks to well-known motifs by illustrator Josef Lada and look forward to the Christmas program, which includes charity markets and musical performances.“Christmas carols are an inseparable part of the holiday season. Ours is original because it consists of authentic sounds of airport traffic and life. It is based on the unique atmosphere of the airport as a place where the hustle and bustle of travel, emotions from meetings or farewells, and other unmistakable sounds mix, and when combined, they can create something surprisingly harmonious and magical: the airport’s own Christmas melody,” says Eva KrejÄŤĂ, Prague Airport Director of Communications and Marketing. The Christmas carol entitled “Departures and Dreams” will be broadcast on radio stations in the form of spots with a competition for attractive prizes. Interested parties will also be able to listen to it on the Spotify platform, and a direct link to this song’s video clip can be obtained by scanning the QR code from screens at the airport and from promotional areas in selected shopping centres and at busy metro stations. The visual will feature a Christmas ornament with the iconic air traffic control tower at Prague Airport.“From the position of an international airport which connects our country with the world, we are happy and proud to present rich Czech culture. The Christmas trees in the airport terminals therefore bear the mark of traditional Czech craftsmanship, as we have partially decorated them with original glass ornaments by Czech glassmakers. Similarly, for the Christmas decorations of the terminal buildings, we have chosen traditional Josef Lada Christmas motifs. And we have also prepared a special room where visitors can take photos with props with the backdrops of winter pictures by Josef Lada,” added Eva KrejÄŤĂ. The Lada room is open without interruption in the connecting building between Terminals 1 and 2 until 10 January 2026.The diversity of Czech Christmas – from snowy Prague and live nativity scenes in the countryside to scouts carrying the Nativity Light – is presented in a photographic exhibition which can be seen until the end of January in the gallery on the ground floor of Terminal 2. The exhibition was prepared by Prague Airport in cooperation with the Czech Photo organization. St. Nicholas Day is also a traditional event at Václav Havel Airport Prague: on 4 December, special airport tours for children will take place, and a day later, St. Nicholas with his traditional entourage will present passengers with small gifts and sweets. The airport will promote philanthropy on 11 December, when charity markets will take place in the connecting building between Terminals 1 and 2. On the same day, a concert will be held in Terminal 2 to support the Pink Bubble foundation, which helps young people fight cancer. Passengers who depart from Terminal 2 and have a creative flair can take part in a workshop on 15 December and paint their own glass Christmas ornament using the provided paints and brushes. They will then receive their creation as a souvenir. Three days later, on 18 December, the Lucky Voice Band will conjure up the Christmas atmosphere with their singing. They will perform at various locations in Terminals 1 and 2 throughout the day. The Christmas program at the airport will culminate on Christmas Eve, when passengers will be given gingerbread cookies from the protected Blue House workshop, including a card describing Czech Christmas customs.
