Prague Airport has successfully concluded a tender procedure pursuant to the Public Procurement Act under which it was selecting the service of a construction manager for a key infrastructure project. This project will significantly increase peak-time capacity and notably improve passenger comfort at the largest Czech airport in the coming years. The winner became a joint venture of Hill International, INVIN, and Contract Management companies. The expansion of Terminal 2 is a necessary step, as the airport is reaching the limit of its existing terminal capacity during operational peak times.

The external construction manager will be responsible in particular for the investor’s technical supervision, quality control of project documentation, risk management, cost and job schedule control, ensuring compliance with legislation and international certifications (e.g. LEED), alongside support in planning the Operational Readiness Activation and Transition (ORAT).

The Terminal 2 modernisation project comprises the expansion of the handling building, the construction of a new pier D, as well as the reconstruction of pier C and other adjacent areas. It will also include modern systems and technologies which will increase operational efficiency and improve travel comfort. The project is also linked with other future construction projects in the airport area, such as a new railway station.
