STARLUX Airlines is officially launching its direct flight route today between Prague and Taipei. This is a historic first — the Taiwanese airline's debut route to the continental Europe and a major milestone in the expansion of its international network. The service will initially operate three times a week, with frequency increasing to four weekly flights from October.

STARLUX Airlines will initially operate the Prague service with an Airbus A350-900 before upgrading to the larger Airbus A350-1000 from 1 September. The A350-1000 offers seating for 350 passengers across four cabin classes. As an added bonus, Prague will welcome two spectacular AIRSORAYAMA Silver and Gold aircraft, each featuring a unique livery created by renowned Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama. Alongside Tokyo and Phoenix, Prague will become one of only three destinations worldwide where AIRSORAYAMA aircraft can be seen on a regular basis. From October, passengers can immerse themselves in Hajime Sorayama's futuristic world with exclusive onboard items, including specially designed boarding passes, luggage tags, placemats and amenity kits.

“Prague is much more than just the first European destination for STARLUX Airlines. It represents a significant milestone in our long-term global network development strategy,” stated Glenn Chai, CEO of STARLUX Airlines. “With the continued development of semiconductor manufacturing in Central Europe, especially around Prague, the launch of a direct flight will allow us to better respond to the growing demand for business travel while offering tourists a more convenient way to travel for leisure.”

“With today's launch, STARLUX Airlines also becomes the only airline offering direct flights between Taipei and Prague in First Class. Combined with our extensive network across Asia, we will offer passengers a premium, seamless and comfortable travel experience between Prague and destinations throughout Asia,” adds Glenn Chai.

“We greatly appreciate that STARLUX Airlines has chosen Prague as their first destination in Europe. This decision confirms Prague’s appeal and reflects the confidence the carrier has placed in our partnership. Thanks to the outstanding teamwork on both sides, we went the extra mile to ensure the new route launch was a success. We wish STARLUX Airlines every success and their passengers many pleasant journeys between Prague and Taipei, as well as on connecting flights to other destinations in Asia,” says Martin Kučera, Member of the Board of Directors of Prague Airport.

At the same time, STARLUX Airlines continues to fulfil its sustainability commitments. In line with the European Union's ReFuelEU Aviation initiative, all flights departing from Prague will operate using a two percent blend of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Working with Taiwanese energy partners and in line with international sustainability policies, STARLUX Airlines is contributing to building a low-carbon aviation supply chain while continuing on the path to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

To promote the new Prague service, STARLUX Airlines has chosen Jolin Cai, one of Asia's most prominent pop stars, as the campaign ambassador. To celebrate the new Prague service, she has recorded a new version of her hit Prague Square and filmed a brand-new music video for it in Prague.

To mark the launch of STARLUX Airlines' first European service, luxury skincare brand La Mer is joining the celebrations by treating passengers to an exclusive gift throughout the inaugural month. From 1 to 29 August, First and Business Class passengers travelling from Taipei to Prague with STARLUX Airlines will receive an exclusive complimentary La Mer Luxury Travel Set, adding an extra touch of luxury to their journey.

Following the launch of its Prague service, STARLUX Airlines will continue expanding across Europe, connecting more cities worldwide while offering a premium travel experience defined by outstanding service, innovation and sustainability.
