For the second time in a row, Prague Airport has won the prestigious Routes World Award in the category of airports handling 10 to 20 million passengers a year. This year’s shortlist included airports in Edinburgh, Calgary, Indianapolis, and San Antonio. The award, based on the vote by airline representatives, reflects the airport’s achievements in the development of air connections, marketing support, and overall cooperation with airlines.

“Winning this prestigious award for the second time in a row is an exceptional success for us and at the same time a strong signal that our work has a long-term and internationally recognised impact. First of all, I would like to thank all of my colleagues for their hard work and airline partners for their trust and support. Defending our leadership among such strong competition confirms the correct nature of our approach to the development of air connections and cooperation with airlines,” Jiří Vyskoč, Prague Airport Aviation Business Development Executive Director, said.

Counting its successful defence of last year’s achievement, Prague Airport has won the Routes World Award for the fourth time in its history. The expert jury of airline representatives acknowledged the airport’s 2025 marketing activities targeting business partners and the public. The evaluation also focused on the ways the airport approaches the requirements of its partners regarding day-to-day cooperation, the processing of data analyses for the development of air connections, and the overall enhancement of mutual business relations.

“It is the result of the daily commitment of the entire team and also of the long-term above-standard business relationships we have been building together with our airline partners. This year, we have also managed to expand the range of offered destinations, attract more airlines, and increase frequencies on key routes. For us, this award is not only confirmation of the right direction, but also a strong motivation to continue our work with even greater energy and vision,” Jiří Vyskoč added.

In cooperation with air carriers, Prague Airport launched connections to 18 new destinations in 2025, including six new long-haul routes, namely to Toronto, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Beirut, Marrakech, and a charter route to the Maldives. On 88 routes, there was a further increase in the offered capacity this year, i.e., an increase in the number of frequencies or the deployment of larger aircraft.

The award ceremony took place as part of the Routes World 2025 international forum, which is taking place this year in Hong Kong from 24 to 26 September. The conference brings together key air transport development stakeholders, i.e., airports, airlines, tourism support organisations, and other involved entities.
