Madeira, also known as the island of eternal spring, will captivate you with its stunning nature, laurel forests, breathtaking cliffs, and picturesque villages. The island is a true paradise for nature lovers. Embark on a hike between the highest peaks, Pico Ruivo and Pico do Arieiro, where you can enjoy spectacular views, or try one of the most beautiful and famous coastal treks at Ponta de São Lourenço. Be sure to visit the cliffs of Cabo Girão with its glass skywalk or the largest laurel forest in the world – Fanal, with its gnarled trees that create a mysterious atmosphere in the mist. Don’t miss the levadas, unique irrigation channels that date back to the Middle Ages. Try one of the most famous, such as the Levada Caldeirão Verde or the Levada do Moinho. You’re in for a pleasant walk through enchanting nature.

We also recommend visiting towns like Santana with its typical shepherd’s houses with thatched roofs, the charming fishing village of Câmara de Lobos, and last but not least, the capital city, Funchal. Stroll through the picturesque streets, the historic market, or the botanical garden. Another interesting spot is the village of Curral das Freiras, which lies in the bottom of a rocky bowl and is known as the "Nun's Valley." In 1566, nuns from the Santa Clara convent in Funchal hid here from French pirates. Another highlight is the sea baths in the town of Porto Moniz. Several natural lava pools, embedded directly in the rugged coastal rocks with crystal-clear seawater, invite you to swim. Madeira offers countless opportunities.
