The Phu Quoc Island, also known as the Jade Island or the Pearl Island, is the exotic gem of Vietnam. It is a true tropical paradise with white beaches, rich underwater life, and green vegetation of tropical jungle.

The main local attractions are undoubtedly the sandy beaches, with the most popular being the Long Beach. This is a very busy place, where you will find a lot of bars and hotels. However, if you prefer more peaceful places, be sure to visit the Bai Sao beach. To learn about the culture and history of the island, visit one of the many local pagodas and temples, especially the most famous Sung Hung Pagoda.

Other interesting places include the “Coconut Prison” museum of imprisonment and the Dinh Cau rock, to which local fishermen pray before setting sail. The Duong Dong market and local pepper plantations are also worth a visit as the island is famous for its black pepper growing. Also stop at the Phu Quoc National Park, where you can admire lush tropical vegetation, waterfalls, caves, rare species of plants and animals, and the highest peak of the island. You can also look forward to specific local cuisine, especially its characteristic fish sauce and seafood.
