Today, airports serve as modern public squares – places of meeting, relaxation, and shared experiences

We are proud that Václav Havel Airport Prague is the first airport in the world to feature its own Poesiomat – a unique “periscope” into Czech culture and history. This audio installation presents travelers with 20 engaging stories about prominent individuals such as Václav Havel, Karel Čapek, Milada Horáková, and Antonín Holý, as well as tales of the origin of Pilsner lager or the world-famous song Škoda lásky (Beer Barrel Polka).

The Poesiomat speaks primarily in English (voiced by Rob Cameron and Ruth Fraňková), but also offers stories in French, German, and Spanish. This cultural installation follows the tradition of freely accessible public pianos, which have been a part of the airport experience since 2013.
