Electronic devices such as electric toothbrushes, electric shavers or massage devices may accidentally switch on during transport and start vibrating. This may result in the baggage being removed from the handling process and subjected to additional security checks, potentially including the involvement of a bomb disposal expert. These checks can delay baggage processing and, in extreme cases, even cause flight delays.
Before checking in your baggage, always make sure that such devices are switched off and secured against accidental activation. If possible, remove the batteries or carry the device with you in the cabin, in accordance with the rules for transporting the relevant type of battery and device. One accidental activation can complicate the journey not only for you, but also for other passengers.
