Bilbao

Basque Country’s largest city of Bilbao offers traditional architecture of northern, galleries, museums, football matches, beach life and delicious local cuisine. Visit the oldest city district, Casco Viejo, and marvel at its beautiful medieval buildings and colourful houses with little balconies. Other must-sees include the Guggenheim Museum and the baroque Église San Nicolás church in Plaza Nueva. Don't forget to stop off at one of the bars and try the local delicacy pintxos, a typical Basque snack. The countryside around Bilbao is charming as well. Arrietara Beach, located just outside the city, is perfect for relaxing and surfing. The stunning Zumaia Beach on the island of Gaztelugatxe is also worth a visit.
