Medication

If you need to have medication with you during the flight (or you are only travelling with hand baggage), some exceptions to the general rules regarding restrictions on liquids, sprays and gels on board the plane will apply to you. Any medication (required during the flight) can be transported without restrictions on the packaging volume, however you should always report this to the security check staff. We always recommend that you take the prescription from your doctor or confirmation from the medical facility with you; security staff may ask for such a confirmation.

Eye drops or pain killers are always deemed necessary medication and can be carried without any volume restrictions. We always recommend that you carry confirmation from your physician.

When travelling to certain countries it is recommended (in some states it is required) to carry a valid record of vaccination on an international vaccination card.

Transporting money

You can only carry up to EUR 10,000 across the border (or equivalent in different currency). If you need more cash, you must report this to the customs authorities. If you are travelling from one EU country to another, you must report this in both countries. Otherwise, the customs officers may seize the carried amount. Remember that the customs authorities may perform personal searches

Information for passengers

Quantity limits for imports of goods from countries that are not Member States of the European Union

For imports of selected goods from countries which are not EU member states, quantity limits apply. This category includes, e.g.:

• goods imported occasionally for the personal use or consumption of the recipient or of the passenger and members of their family or as a gift
• tobacco products
• alcoholic beverages
• medication

Exports of goods into countries that are EU member states

In addition to restrictions and limitations regarding certain types of exported goods (veterinary goods, items of cultural value, firearms, ammunition and explosives, addictive substances and medication, financial means) no export customs duties or other export fees apply in the EU with regard to the export of goods that do not have a commercial nature.

If you are changing to another aeroplane at Prague Airport, we advise you to check in advance whether your baggage will be checked in until your ultimate destination. Otherwise you will need to reclaim your baggage after arrival and check it in again before the other flight.

We recommend that you lock your baggage, preferably using a security TSA lock (with the diamond symbol). This will make it possible for security personnel to check the contents of your baggage without damaging it.

Each airline has different size and weight limits. We advise you to get the information in advance.

The overweight fees are usually paid at the check-in desk or at the counter of your airline company.

With some carriers, it is only possible to pay for excess weight by credit card.

The Security FastTrack service is only available for travel to Schengen countries (Terminal 2) and may be used 60 minutes before and 60 minutes after the time specified upon the service booking (when booking online) or within a 90-minute period when purchased at the ticket office. The service cannot be used for passage with strollers and luggage other than standard cabin (hand luggage). The service can be booked online at least 2 hours before the scheduled transit or directly at the ticket office with immediate effect.

What is the procedure for passing through security with a Security FastTrack service purchased?

Instructions for using the service (online booking)

1. Before the security check, find the special entrance that is dedicated to Security FastTrack (on the left side before the central security checkpoint)
2. Have your boarding pass and the purchased voucher ready for review
3. Present your boarding pass and the ticket with the QR code to the security screening officer at the validator to be granted security screening priority passage

Order Security FastTrack

Instructions on how to use the service (purchase at the self-service kiosk in the departure hall)

1. The service can be purchased at the self-service kiosk marked Security FastTrack (before entering the security checkpoint) in Terminal 2. The pass can be used within 90 minutes of purchase.

2. After purchasing the service, remove the ticket with the QR code and proceed to the Security FastTrack entrance (to the left of the kiosk)
3. Please present your boarding pass and purchased ticket to the staff at the entrance, who will grant you priority access to the security screening.
