From which terminal will my airplane depart?

The terminals at the Airport are differentiated depending on the country you are travelling to. Terminal 1 is intended solely for flights to countries outside the Schengen Area. Terminal 2 looks after passengers flying to countries in the Schengen Area.

Where can I find the number of my check-in desk?

You can find the number of the check-in desk in charge of your flight on the information panels in the Departure Lounges of both terminals. It is common for several desks to be open for one flight, so you can use any of the displayed desks.

What do I do if I'm travelling with hand luggage only?

If you travel with hand baggage only, instead of waiting in line at the check-in counter, you can use self-service check-in kiosks or check-in via the mobile app of your air carrier. Once you have your boarding pass (in print or electronic form), you can proceed directly to passport/security control. Please note that only selected air carriers offer this possibility.

How early before my flight departs do I need to be at the Airport?

We advise you to arrive at the airport well ahead of time. If you have to check-in your baggage, we recommend that you arrive at the airport at least two hours prior to the scheduled departure of your flight. If you travel with hand baggage only and if you already have your boarding pass, it is not necessary for you to get there so early; however, we advise you to be at the airport well in advance. The gate generally closes 30-40 minutes before the scheduled flight departure time. For more information, contact your air carrier.

What is the check-in procedure for travellers with reduced mobility or sense of direction?

The Airport provides a 24-hour assistance service, free of charge, for all people with disabilities or people with reduced mobility or sense of direction. If you need our assistance when checking in, finding your way through the Airport or boarding the plane, contact our assistance service according to the instructions. Our assistance will help you with all steps related to your smooth travelling by air. Moreover, parking at the Airport is free of charge for holders of a severe health disability requiring special assistance card; to use the free parking option, please read the service conditions.

What is the difference between the systems for flights inside and outside the Schengen Area?

Within the Schengen Area, you can travel with just a valid ID card (you do not have to have your passport with you) and, therefore, you do not need to go through passport control. Check-in is immediately followed by security control, and only then do you enter the transit zone of the Airport with its duty-free shops, restaurants and other services. Passengers traveling within the Schengen Area are checked-in in Terminal 2. Passengers flying outside the Schengen Area also have to pass through passport control before entering the transit zone of the Airport. Security control takes place only once you are directly at the gate, therefore please make sure you reserve enough time for boarding the plane. Passengers traveling outside the Schengen Area are checked-in in Terminal 1.
